Taking a Trip? Bring Your BETAPLUS® Travel Card
Taking a trip can be fun, but it can also take some planning if you take medication. When traveling with BETASERON (interferon beta-1b), be sure to show your BETAPLUS Travel Card if you're asked about your medication and syringes.
Here are some things to do when you're traveling with your BETASERON to help make your trip go smoothly:
- Show your BETAPLUS Travel Card if you're asked about your medication and syringes
- Take a current prescription label (located on the outside of the packaging) with you
- Carry a physician's note on his or her stationery indicating that you are living with multiple sclerosis (MS) and require injections
- Write the telephone number of your physician's office on your BETAPLUS Travel Card in case you run out of medication while traveling
- Carry a durable container to put used needles and syringes in
- Take your Personal Journal to record your medication use while you're away

Injection-site necrosis has been reported in 4% of patients in controlled trials. Patients should be advised of the importance of rotating injection sites. Female patients should be warned about the potential risk to pregnancy. Cases of anaphylaxis have been reported rarely.
