Genelle's Story
I had signs and symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS) when I was 17, but I didn't get diagnosed until
2000. I was young and had absolutely no idea what MS was or how it would affect my life. I was devastated
about the unknown course of MS, so I isolated myself from the disease for many years. Nearly 10 years
have passed since I was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) and I am proud to say I have come
to terms with having MS. I embrace MS instead of running from it. I began BETASERON in 2007. The support program that Bayer offers is awesome – the nurses
from BETAPLUS are there for you any time, any day. I am happier working with MS than against it, and hope
I can be an asset for someone who is going through what I once experienced.

Brad's Story
I was diagnosed with RRMS in 2006, after experiencing symptoms including numbness, loss of
balance, and vertigo. I began treatment with BETASERON 2 weeks after my diagnosis. I am very involved with my family and in the community. I am
also the mid-Florida chapter ambassador for the MS Bike Ride and I participate in National Multiple
Sclerosis Society conventions. Treatment is very important, but so is exercise and eating healthy.

INDICATIONS AND USAGE
BETASERON® (interferon beta-1b) is indicated for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis to reduce the frequency of clinical exacerbations. Patients with multiple sclerosis in whom efficacy has been demonstrated include patients who have experienced a first clinical episode and have MRI features consistent with multiple sclerosis.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
The most commonly reported adverse reactions are lymphopenia, injection-site reaction, asthenia, flu-like symptom complex, headache, and pain. Gradual dose titration and use of analgesics during treatment initiation may help reduce flu-like symptoms. BETASERON should be used with caution in patients with depression. Injection-site necrosis has been reported in 4% of patients in controlled trials. Patients should be advised of the importance of rotating injection sites. Female patients should be warned about the potential risk to pregnancy. Cases of anaphylaxis have been reported rarely. See "Warnings," "Precautions," and "Adverse Reactions" sections of full Prescribing Information.
